Midtown's "only full-time gay bar" comes equipped with decor from the Forties, with a great selection of contemporary tunes playing over the sound system. But the real attraction of Uncle Charlie's, of course, is its piano-drive showtunes showcases, with a large performance space towards the back where, at any given time, scores of theater enthusiasts will be making a chorus of any showtune you can think of, and even more you've never heard of before. After six, patrons can peruse a collection of some thirty-odd-thousand songs and take the stand with piano accompaniment.
