Jehangir Mehta steps up to hotel restaurateur with this 45-seat small-plate Indian restaurant nestled in the Duane Street Hotel. Metaphor offers a menu inspired by Asian urban tastes and scents and wrapped in Jehangir Mehta's singular chef voice. There's a point of view here and a chef who touches every dish. The new restaurant has several intimate dining areas, including a dessert-cocktail bar, a tiny loungy dining area, a true cocktail bar, a time worn wooden communal table fully wired for laptops and internet access, and a lovely small dining room. The entire restaurant is awash in glass frontage.
