Metro Community Laundromat

561 Metropolitan Ave

The sort of laundromat where you're apt to see even the odd homeless person or two washing their clothes—not that you can necessarily tell just from looking in Williamsburg, mind you—and a clientele as colorful as the neighborhood itself. There are seats, which is first-off in thankful rarities, but no tables save for folding tables. The machines are all fairly new and well-maintained amd run on a money-card basis, so you don't need to hoard your quarters. The system is weird, though: if you don't have a card, they may not sell you one out-right, forcing you to hop over to the clerk, who will bring out a stack of cards with money still left on them to swipe and reswipe in the machines until the cycle is paid for, for which you pay them in cash. Still and all, one of the best 24-hour laundromats in the city, and there's no shortage of restaurants, bodegas and bars to while away the time between washing and drying. Crocodile Lounge, right across the street, even serves cheap pizza to go along with your beer.
